DLT Registration Process
Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) is a block-chain based registration system. It is implemented in the public interest to control the SMS spam.whoever wants to send promotional bulk sms or transactional SMS to their customers needs to be DLT registered.
As per TCCCPR 2018, TSP has to do KYC of the Entities/TMs it will register in its system for sending commercial communications. The following are the list of documents that are required to be submitted by Principal Entity (PE)/Telemarketers (TMs) during the registration process in the DLT.

Entity/Enterprise (Sender) Registration includes details of KYC documents. . A fee of INR 5,900 must be paid to the operator to complete the registration process. DLT Operators List
Transactional message means OTP send in message used for bank Transactions.
Example :711111 is the OTP for trxn of INR 6000. at ABCD App with your card XX0000. OTP is valid for 10 mins. Pls do not share it with anyone.
Header : ALPHA (SMTPNG,VIDCON…)
Any commercial communication that an enterprise can send only to NON-DND recipent.
Example :Happiness Sale on this new year. Get up to 50% OFF on over 100 brands. Register & get EXTRA Rs. 100/- OFF.
Header: Numeric (678999,098766)
Any information which is send in the form of text message comes under service Implicit.Like notification, alerts, order realted information and so more.
Example :Dear Customer, your order has been successfully placed. Your will be receiving your order very shortly!
Header: ALPHA (FLPKRT,INFINF)
Any service message which doesn’t comes under the category of service message (Implicit) will be sent only against service explicit.

Header: ALPHA (MNMNDR,INFINF)
Important thing to check while doing header registration type ‘Alpha’(Others):
Headers (Sender names) are case-sensitive, i.e. ABCDEF and abcdef are two different sender names and can be registered separately. Availability of the header.The Header selected should match your entity name. If the header name is different:
- For Videocon DLT: Please attach a document/image showing the website link, trademark certificate or any other document/image proving the relation between your entity name and your requested header.
- For VIL/BSNL DLT: Please mention the website link, trademark certificate or any other reference proving the relation between your entity name and your requested header. Also, mention your mobile number in the description to facilitate a call back by the DLT support team for any clarification.
Content / Template registration
After doing DLT registration and header registration next step is to do template registration that means all the messages which Entity/Telemarketer are going to send has to first get approved in DLT. As per TRAI updated rules and guidelines, any business entity or telemarketers can only send approved SMS to the customers . First step for template registration is log in into your DLT account and proceed for template registration process.

Content Template Registration
- Select Template > Add New Template.
- Add a Template Name.
- Choose Communication type as SMS.
- Choose type of communication – Promotional / Service Implicit / Service Explicit / Transactional.
- Select Consent Template (Optional).
- Select a Content Category (Only for Promotional and Service Explicit type).
- Search and select all Headers that you would want to use with this template.
- Add the template content in the ‘template content’ text box > Get and enter OTP > Click ‘Submit’.
Consent Template Registration
- Select Consent Template
- Add New Consent Template
- Add a Consent Template Name
- Add Scope of Consent
- Get and enter OTP > Click Submit
For Jio Trueconnect DLT Platform
Content Template Registration
- Select Template > Content Template Registration.
- Choose the Template type of communication – Promotional / Transactional / Service Inferred / Service Explicit.
- Choose template type as SMS.
- Select a Category from the drop-down list (Only for Promotional and Service Explicit type).
- Select Consent ID from the drop-down list (Optional).
- Search and select all Headers that you would want to use with this template.
- Add the template content in the ‘template content’ text box and click Submit.

- Add a template name and your brand name.
